Volunteer Staff

Each year, approximately 75 qualified staff members are on the campground full -ime during Summer Camp and approximately 35 staff members at Fall Camp.  Every staff member is a volunteer, but the "pay"  is having the memories and smiles that stay with you for life, and of course, the tee shirt that refreshes those memories. 

Adult staff members are on the campground to provide leadership, ensure activities run smoothly, camp areas are kept safe and clean, and that campers and counselors are all in good spirits--all the while coordinating special activities throughout the day and in the evenings. Full time nursing staff are on the grounds at all times and physicians present each evening.  All of these activities and operations are under the guidelines of the Mississippi Department of Health policies for youth camps.

Staff members agree that Abbie Rogers Civitan Camp is an experience that is positive and life changing, as evident by the great numbers of returning staff year after year, and the waiting list of others who also want to serve.
