Teenage volunteers (at least 14 years old and completed the 9th grade when camp begins) serve as counselors for children and adults with disabilities. Each counselor is paired with their camper friend, a child or adult(s) with disabilities, for a week of outdoor and indoor adventures. What’s their primary responsibility? Counselors provide a fun and safe camping experience, plus make new friends!
Counselors participate with their camper friends during all activities, such as swimming, boating, and arts and crafts. They also provide assistance as needed with daily care needs, including eating and dressing. After check-in, counselors remain at the campground at all times.
